Car Vandals Caught on Westlake

When:  Sometime in the middle of April at about 2:00 am.
Where:  In the parking area near the 2466 Westlake dock.
What:  "Someone (not a houseboater) in the parking lot saw three guys vandalizing (smash and grab) several cars.  They called police, who came and chased the vandals toward Fremont and caught them!  Police then came back and woke up the folks whose cars were smashed to ID their stuff.  Once again, they got only trivial stuff -- diapers, yoga mat, picnic sheet, etc."
Reported To:  SPD.  "The officers said the vandals had smashed several other cars further down the street, so they were going to try and combine all the damage into one "event" so the culprits could be charged with a felony rather than several misdemeanors."
