Dockwatch 08/01/2009

What:  "I had my purse stolen out of our houseboat last Thursday.  We had just stepped out briefly but the door was open (shoot!).  It was the 4th weekend and lots of neighbors were roaming around. The thief then used the keys in my purse to steal my car on Friday, and attempted to steal my friends car on Sunday morning.  My car was recovered."
Reported To:  SPD.  "Well...the plot thickened...I got a call from the Mercer Island Police on Wednesday. They said I should come down to their headquarters and retrieve my stuff. Yes, they had my purse, wallet, ID etc...."The Rat Bastard" and his girlfriend were pulled over on the side of the road in Mercer Island.  He had been entering many homes in the Magnolia area while the folks were home and going through jewelry boxes, purses, computers, etc. I guess the moral of the story we even need to lock our homes while home. They like it when you are home because you won't surprise them. They know where you are."

Editorial Note:  Every year I get the date for this event too late to do anyone any good.  How about a houseboat wide swimming party?  No permit required.
