    Wind In the Willow

On December 14, 2006 a strong windstorm caused considerable damage to a number of docks around Lake Union and Portage Bay. The first two photos in the album show the storm moving in from the vantage of the 2017 Fairview Log Foundation Dock, which needed repairs of its own. The Willow Dock further north on Fairview also had to be rebuilt. These gallery photos tell that story and supplement stories in the Spring 2007 Newsletter.

Robert M. Hubley (some of whose photos are reproduced here) also posted another album about the Willow Dock reconstruction after the storm.

    Tour 2006

What a fantastic day we had at this year’s Houseboat Tour! This really was an amazing day from beginning to end: from our phenomenal planning committee, to generous neighbors offering their distinctive houseboats for the tour, to the sunny weather that graced our day. It gave us all a wonderful opportunity to meet other houseboaters, share stories and renew our appreciation for life on the water. Thanks to each and every one of our volunteers who made this day so special. We couldn’t have done it without your enthusiasm and commitment and I appreciate your willingness to give of your time and for your support of this community. -- Melissa Ahlers
