Cat Burglar around DOX Co-op

When:  Various times during March early in the morning.  The most recent incident was on March 31st.
Where:  2235 Fairview Ave. E.
What:  "There have been several incidents of a burglar(s) entering houseboats, going through stuff, prowling sheds outside, etc." On Tuesday, March 30th someone tried to break into a houseboat when the resident was inside.
Reported To:  Detective Schorsch, SPD and SHP.

Here is some advice for our community:

  • Keep your doors and windows locked even when you are home.  Double check to see if you forgot to lock a side window.
  • Do not leave purses, wallets, phones, etc. in plain sight - where you could easily see them through a door or window.
  • Challenge people on the dock if you do not know them and consider asking them to leave.
  • Call 911 if you have an incident to report.  This ensures that the report is logged in at SPD.  It may help to try not to touch anywhere or anything that the individual may have touched (doorknob, window jamb, slider, glass pane, etc.) so SPD can attempt to get the fingerprints.
