Hello FHA members,

Someone in the community suggested I write an occasional blog for our website to relate news in between print issues of the FHA newsletter. So, welcome to WaterBlog.

It is another warm summer morning in the heart of Seattle. Take a walk with me as we amble along Fairview Avenue East and hear the latest news from our houseboat neighbors.

Travel reports have become an interesting part of Waterlog. Even though we live in such a beautiful place, a good number of houseboaters love to travel. Doctor Jim (Weyand) and I are two such travelers. For our three-week trip this winter, we headed for South America, to a place about as far away from Seattle as you can go and still be in the Americas.

It's another hot day on the Lake, so why not join me? Get in your kayak, canoe or sail along with me as we visit houseboaters around the lake. Our route will start at Northlake. Then we'll go up the west side of Lake Union, back down the eastern shores and finally go a short distance into Portage Bay.

Reader, let's hit the Lake Union Trail. We'll stop here and there to catch up on our neighbors.
