Keasler Cottage — A Thank-You Space for Our Volunteers

As a small thank-you to the dock leaders and volunteers who give so much of their time to the FHA, we're excited to open up the newly restored Keasler Cottage for your use. (A quick note: all Dock Leaders are considered Floating Home community volunteers, so this space is very much for you too!) Whether you need a spot for a dock business meeting, a committee planning session, or just a quiet place to gather your leadership team, the cottage is yours to enjoy — right on the water, comfortable, and fully equipped for small group collaboration.

We're launching this as a pilot program in 2026 to see how the space gets used, so your feedback along the way will help shape how it works going forward.

Capacity

Table seating for up to 8 people (10 max)

Technology

  • High-speed Wi-Fi

  • Wall-mounted display TV for documents or presentations

  • Large Bluetooth speaker

  • Motorized sit/stand desk

Water Access
The deck has tie-up cleats for kayakers and paddleboarders — feel free to paddle on up! (Boats aren't able to dock here due to low water levels and limited space.)

Deck Space
A lovely back deck with water views and a BBQ grill — great for a relaxed working session or a moment to unwind afterward

Availability
Tuesdays–Saturdays, 9:00 AM–8:00 PM

Cost
For 2026, use of the cottage is free for members who volunteer and their affiliated non-profits. That said, since it takes ongoing care to keep the property in great shape, a donation for usage is helpful if you or your organization can afford it.   Checks to "Seattle Floating Homes" may be left in the cottage in envelopes by the door.

A Note on Booking Limits
To make sure this wonderful space is available to as many volunteers and community non-profits as possible, individual use is currently limited to 5 visits per year. This limit, along with the rest of the program, is part of our 2026 pilot as we get this new benefit up and running — we appreciate your understanding and any thoughts you have along the way!

How to Book
Reach out to our Cottage Coordinator, B-Z Davis, to schedule your visit:

BZ will take care of your calendar reservation, have you sign a usage document. walk you through access, and send along your electronic door code.   First time users must receive a walk through by BZ or an FHA Board Member.

Parking
Please use street parking for your visit — the on-site lot is quite tight, so we ask that you avoid it.

One More Thing
The cottage doesn't have an on-site bathroom, so please give your committee members a heads-up before they arrive.

Thank you for everything you do for our dock communities — we hope this little space brings you some comfort while you do it!
