What's coming?
Sheri Greaves is working on the Fall Dock Leadership meeting agenda. Dock leaders should be on the lookout for more information regarding that meeting over the coming weeks. If you are a new dock leader or would just like to attend, just write to president@seattlefloatinghomes.com and we will make sure you get the meeting details!
We have been working with journalist Lauren Gallow on next month’s feature article on floating homes in Pacific Northwest Magazine. Lauren has a new Northwest Modernism architecture/design book coming out soon which includes a few of our floating homes. It makes a great gift.
Meanwhile, Kenji has been cooking up some Fancy hot dogs at our Keasler Cottage - be on the lookout for his recipes to view soon on his feed.

Community Spotlight: Thank You Volunteers!
A massive thank you to our incredible volunteers who have excelled over the last few months. We appreciate you:
Judy Rose and Adam Woog for their fantastic work bringing "The World's Smallest Floating Homes Museum" to life.
Katheryn Hayes for her vital dedication to the environment and our community clean-up efforts. (Next cleanup is 9am October 25th at 2420 Westlake Ave N and 2329 Fairview Ave E)
Kristin Green for her meticulous work on the FHA dock financial income audit.
Melanie Markle, Sarah Dick, and John Burgess for opening up their homes for our Dock Rock series with Lake Union Concerts.
Derek Voelker at Seattle Dive for offering their services free of charge to reseat that barrel that popped up from the extra weight of the Dock Rock band. And thank you to those members for donating to Dock Rock’s Charity Water foundation.
As a small thank-you to the member dock leaders and volunteers who are actively giving so much of their time to our floating home community, this year you may use Keasler Cottage for non-profit meetings (including dock meetings) as well as light personal use. It’s a beautiful little office, with a grill donated by Kenji, A/V equipment and high speed internet. For more information, visit our FHA website. Want access too? Become an FHA volunteer or join your Dock Board leadership team.
Ready for Winter? We have a tip!
As the weather begins to transition, this is an excellent time to install Temperature Activated Heat Tape on your water pipes if you haven't done so already. Pay special attention to the short, exposed areas above the water that run from the dock to your individual home. Taking this step now will reduce the chance of your pipes freezing outside your home when the winter temperatures arrive. Check member suggested vendors to find a handyman to install.
